We are so happy that you desire to bring your child into the Family of God and incorporate them into the Body of Christ through the sacrament of Baptism!
Need to be registered members of Holy Redeemer parish. If they are not registered here (for a minimum of six months), they need to bring a letter from their parish.
For newly registered parishioners, there is a six month waiting period, which includes attendance at Mass and use of Offertory envelopes.
Need to attend one preparatory session on Sunday (normally the first Sunday of each month), along with the godparents. (This preparatory session may be taken even before the birth of your child, so as to be ready for a baptism.)
Also parents need to bring their child's birth certificate.
At the time of registration for the sacrament of baptism, information concerning date, time and place will be given.
Last Saturday of each Month.
Must be practicing Catholics (They are to model the practice of the faith for their godchild(ren).
Godparents must be 18 years or older, having received all the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist).
If married, a godparent should be married in the Catholic Church (Godparents must present a copy of their marriage certificate before registering to baptize their godchild.).
Those only civilly married or living together without marriage cannot be a godparent.
There is no charge to baptize. However, it is customary to make an offering of $20.00 to the parish on behalf of the child, in the envelope given on the day of the class.
